What To Wear For Your Amalfi Coast Photoshoot

Many couples ask what to wear for their photo shoot on the Amalfi coast, so here are a few tips and ideas I have gained over the years of shooting all types of weddings, proposals, engagements, anniversaries, maternity and family photos.

1. Wear comfortable shoes.
This usually means low heeled shoes, and you may wish to bring a change of shoes with you.
The Amalfi coast has a lot of stairs, cobble stone streets, and often uneven pavement, which makes walking in heels a challenge sometimes. So if you  need to, bring a pair of cute but comfortable shoes to change into. Whenever possible try to wear shoes you are happy being photographed in. Plan ahead, and bring low, cute, comfortable shoes.

2. Wear something you are comfortable in, and that you can move easily in. If you are feeling selfconscious or something about you outfit makes you fidget, there is nothing that breaks the mood of a shoot more than uncomfortable clothing.

3. The best colours are usually simple combinations that work with the natural landscape. White, blue, green, yellow, etc... You can of course also get creative, but keep in mind the town you are shooting in and the overall look you want to achieve.

4. Accessories are great to add a little personality to your shoot. Sun glasses, a hat, a scarf, a fan, really anything that we can play around with.

5. The best images are usually not only beautiful, but ones that have meaning. So when you are planning the shoot and your outfit, think about what you are trying to say with your photos. For example if you want to have wedding portraits, easy, you will want to wear wedding attire. But if instead you want to capture for example your Amalfi coast honeymoon, you may wish to do something more informal, maybe even for example beach wear at a beach club, and then change into something more formal later.
Not sure, just ask, I am always happy to answer questions and offer solutions and ideas.

6. Bring a small towel if you sweat in the summer. A fan can do double duty as an accessory and to keep you fresh.

7. If you want to go on the beach you may need to take off your shoes. Some of the beaches (like Positano and Amalfi) are pebble beaches which some people find hard to walk on without shoes, so again spare shoes can be helpful.

Outfit Changes:

Some people like to do an outfit change during the shoot, which is totally fine, but it is important to discuss the logistics of this before beginning the shoot if possible. It can be problematic to carry a change of clothing with us as this stops the movement as we walk around town. Also appropriate places to change are not always easy to find, so if you want to do an outfit change the best way is to usually go back to your hotel part way through the shoot.
If you do have to bring a bag with you on the shoot, try to keep it as light andd easy to carry as possible.

Don't be afraid to change your look during the session, but try to let me know beforehand so we can coordinate our route before the day of the shoot.

Amalfi Maternity Photo Session With A Vintage Car- Monastero Santa Rosa

Selina & Mike made a last escape to Italy before the arrival of their much anticipated baby boy, and what better way to take advantage of this special time together on the beautiful Amalfi coast than to arrange a maternity photo session.
They arranged a fun red vintage Fiat 500 from Positano vintage, which we first used infront of the beautiful Hotel Monastero Amalfi, and then we took a drive into Amalfi, touring along the winding lemon filled roads. The views from the Hotel Monastero in Conca are some of the most beautiful on the entire Amalfi coast.
We then headed back to the Monastero Santa Rosa to finish our photo session in the beautiful gardens and by the jaw dropping Infinity pool.
The perfect babymoon celebration for Selina and Mike on the Amalfi Coast.

Maternity photo shoot in Amalfi - Love, Light, and Gelato for Deep & Tanvi

Mornings in Amalfi are magical. As the sun rises of the Monti Lattari golden light spills over the cliffs, the sea is still and calm, just waking, and the cobbled streets slowly are stirring to life. It was the perfect setting for a maternity photo shoot filled with anticipation, and a touch of Italian charm.

We began our session at the beautiful Marina Riviera, where the quiet harbor and soft ocean breeze created a serene backdrop. The couple, glowing with joy and expectation, embraced each moment with such tenderness. The excitement of their soon to arrive baby girl brought an extra sparkle to their eyes.

From there, we wandered through the historic cobblestone streets of Amalfi, the morning light dancing across colorful buildings. The town seemed to celebrate with them — locals offering warm smiles, the air fragrant with fresh pastries, and every corner revealing another picture perfect scene.

Our final stop was the Piazza Duomo, where the couple shared a sweet gelato moment, by the Sant Andrea fountain with the grand cathedral behind them. It was a fitting end to our morning — simple, joyful, and deeply romantic. Just two people, savoring a quiet moment before their world changes forever.

This shoot wasn’t just about capturing a pregnancy. It was about freezing in time a chapter of love and anticipation — a dreamy Italian vacation, a baby on the way, and two hearts already overflowing.
