The Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi is one of my absolute favourite Amalfi Coast venues. Not only does it have spectacular views of Amalfi, but as soon as you enter through the doors you are transported to the quiet grandeur of another time. The hotel is owned and managed by a local Amalfi family and has managed to maintain the old world luxury feel that is so often lost in the modern world.
Taem and Fares began consulting with me regarding their wedding photography before they had settled on the Santa Caterina, and as soon as they mentioned they were considering this venue I did not hesitate to encourage them to confirm. It ended up being the perfect location for their wedding day. We began with a getting ready session at the hotel, before hoping into a vintage Fiat 500 for some Amalfi chic wedding pictures.
We also took full advantage of the golden hour at the Amalfi Duomo, just a 5 minute drive from the Santa Caterina, whenever possible this is my favourite photo combination for an Amalfi wedding. The light in the afternoon is nothing short of magical.
For a little extra fun in the Piazza Duomo, Taem and Fares made a sweet stop for the best gelato in Amalfi, from the historic pastry shop Pansa.
Before sunset we meet their families back at Santa Caterina for some pictures in the garden before everyone was seated for a romantic candle light dinner. The Amalfi Coast Florist created a modern tablescape setup of white roses in individual glass vases and hundreds of tealights which glowed perfectly in the Amalfi twilight.
