Madelaine and James had their hearts set on a portrait session at Villa Cimbrone and they couldn't have been more right about how they decided to incorporate it in their wedding plans.
A wedding day is always a busy day, and there is no better way to take some of the pressure off than to do a portrait session either the day before or the day after the wedding. This leaves you much more time on the wedding day to spend with friends and family, and to just be in the moment, but you still get all the great pictures you wanted.
This is especially true if you want to do a photo shoot in Villa Cimbrone. The property is very large and too beautiful to not want to spend a little time and enjoy the experience.
After we wandered around the gardens, and took pictures on the spectacular Infinity terrace, James and Madelaine lingered on in the hotel grounds to enjoy a romantic cocktail and dinner.

The medieval town of Ravello is undeniably one of the most picturesque places in Italy for a wedding. From the mountain views, to the perfect vistas of little Amalfi coast villages, to the Mediterranean sea over 300 meters directly below the cliffs. This little resort town has it all. Madelaine and James chose a private garden villa for their intimate wedding.
Making sure their guests had a great time was a priority for them, so the day was filled with music and a few surprises. Including a sciabala for opening their first bottle of champagne as husband and wife.
Madeleine also had a little surprise for James, she snuck away during their portrait session on the top of the Villa and changed from her ceremony dress into a reception dress. The look on Jame's face when he saw her was unmistakable. I have never seen a groom more in love with his bride.
